What do I do if I'm interested in a mural?
-
What do I do if I'm interested in a custom mural? The first step is to schedule an initial consultation with us. We'll hop on a call for about 10 minutes to understand the goal of the project and basic details to provide you with an estimate. Click this link to schedule with Jessi.

I want a custom mural, but don't know where to start. What should I do?Creating a design from scratch can be intimidating. After our initial consultation, we will send you a form to fill out so we can understand your style. After this we will discuss specific elements for you to share your feedback on so we can get a feel for the direction you are wanting to go with the design. Another option is to create a Pinterest board and add us on it. You can add us on that board before the design consultation.
-
What do I need to have prepared for the initial consultation? Please bring the exact measurements, the location of the project, and the overall goals of the mural.
-
What happens after I do the initial mural consultation? We will schedule your design consultation to go go over design specifics and get the creative juices flowing. This call will be visual, so we recommend taking it when you have time to look at ideas. We will discuss with you the vibe, branding, and inspirational ideas of other murals you have seen. (If you need help, we will be there to assist).
-
How do I make sure you understand my vision? We send you a Mural Concept Proposal that has similar esthetics we are going for. It will also have the color pallet we will use for the design. We LOVE feedback in this stage. You can send your feedback to us and even hop on a call to discuss your vision.
-
What if I don't like my design? We do everything we can to avoid this before we make the designs, but we understand life isn't always perfect. If you need edits after we send the design proposal, we do one round of edits complimentary. If you change the design completely after we have put in the design work, we do require a $200 change order fee.
-
What type of edits can I request after you have send the design options? In the first round of edits that we include, you can change colors, minor placements, phrases. What you cannot request is a full concept and style change. We make sure we are fully aligned before we start the actual design, so please give us as much feedback as possible on the Mural Concept Proposal before we start the actual design.
-
How do I give you feedback on my designs? We love feedback and are always happy to hear your thoughts. Although we do prefer more specifics so we can know what to edit. Here's an example of helpful feedback: "I definitely prefer the color scheme in option 2 with the orange and yellows. Also, I would like to incorporate some hot pink in the colors scheme. The general layout is exactly what I had in mind. However, I’m not a fan of the boots with words or Astro star design." Here's an example of unhelpful feedback: "It feels off."
-
How do I prepare my space to be painted? We do ask that all walls are primed before we come into paint. We will also send you a day of painting checklist that can be found here.
-
What is the timeline of designing a mural? We can work around your timeline to schedule a painting day that works for you. Typically we try to schedule painting days within three weeks of the design consultation, depending on everyone's availability.
-
How long does painting a mural typically take?It depends on the complexity of the design and the size of the space. We will give you a time estimate in the design consultation. It can take anywhere from one day to a week.
-
What if I can't afford a custom mural?Don’t worry! Check out our already designed murals in the Serotonin Collection. We also have prints. If you want a custom mural but can’t afford the square footage rate, we can adjust size and details to accommodate your budget or discuss a payment plan.
-
Do I have to pay for a mural all at once?We break it up into 2-3 payments. We collect the deposit, 50% prior to painting, 50% upon completion. Your non-refundable deposit goes towards the total cost.
